How to Invent something new, Plagiarism and Wonderful Giveaway of a Digital Painting

First of all: I'd like to remind everyone that plagiarism is illegal and very, very uncool. Adding one extra detain or changing something small in someone's work that you do not have rights to is plagiarism, so don't do it. This Video is intended as a satire although it is inspired by real life stories.

Second of all: the giveaway. It will end on 8/11/2011 at 11:59pm who cares what time zone, I'll pick the winner the next day anyway :)

PS: This digital painting has been created specially for this video and the whole process is shown in this video. It has been sped up 4x. Due to my lack of understanding of proportions the process shown here is a bit ah... stretched... the painting itself has a much skinnier hand, it looks exactly as it appears in the last 5 seconds of the video.

Print this size by Crazy Tatyana is usually sold for $500, it's pricy, I know, but she isn't Crazy Tatyana for nothing.

  1. Thanks for sharing the video. I teach researching so I well know the problems of plagiarism. Thanks for taking time to remind people. Maybe all of us bloggers should do this every now and again.

  2. Fleur de Lis Quilts, I am reminded about it every time I step into the gallery. For some reason people think they can basically repaint/redraw something someone else did and say they were "inspired" by the original art work. Even better, people draw famous comic book characters, sell it and get upset when they are accused in plagiarism. These laws are there to protect us, artists, writers, musicians, scientists. It's really sad when the very people who copyright laws protects are the once who break these laws

  4. Your Crazy Tatyana character is really a strange woman but if she manages to get a message across then she must be forgiven!
